Erudus Users Explained

Understanding User Roles and Permissions in Erudus

Granting your team members access to your Erudus account is a great way to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across your business.

To help you maintain a reliable "single source of truth" for your product data, Erudus offers several different user roles. This ensures the right people have the exact level of access they need nothing more, nothing less.

Whether you are managing a Manufacturer or a Wholesaler account, this guide will help you understand the different user types available so you can set your team up for success.

Manufacturer Account User Roles

Manufacturer accounts use three distinct roles to help you manage your product specifications and company profile securely.

Please note: Only Admin users can add or manage other users on a Manufacturer account.

  • Admin: The highest level of access. Admin users can manage product specifications, add or remove users, and edit the main profile information for the account.
  • Editor: Designed for your internal team members who need to update food data. Editors can manage and update product specifications, but they cannot manage other users or alter the company profile information.
  • User: A search-only role. These users cannot edit or manage any data on the account. However, they can use the Erudus search tools to view any published product specifications.

Wholesaler Account User Roles

Wholesaler accounts have four specialized roles to help you manage your team's access as well as your customers' access to caterer tools.

Please note: Only Admin users can add or manage other users on a Wholesaler account.

  • Admin: The highest level of access. Admin users have full control to manage users and product codes across the account.
  • Internal: Designed for your staff who need to find product information quickly. Internal users can search for products using the Erudus search tools, but they do not have access to the main wholesaler dashboard.
  • Basic: A restricted, search-only role. Basic users can only search for and view products that are specifically within your Wholesaler's product catalogue.
  • Customer: Designed for your end-users. Customer users can be added to the account to give them access to the Erudus Caterer tools (please note: this requires your Wholesaler subscription to include customer access grants). When adding a Customer, you can also link their specific customer reference number.
